Grant Of The Month Awards
July 2008
The winner and Grant of the Month for July 2008 is Pathways of Chesterfield for the Homeless
Pathways of Chesterfield formed in 2002, and provides support services to homeless people in the area, including hot meals, laundry facilities, and general advice & information.
They received a grant of £1,000 from the Jefford Weller Fund, towards the cost of purchasing an additional tumble drier and washing machine for the laundry room.
Emily Redmond, Manager of the Pathways Day Centre for the Homeless in Chesterfield, said “There have been times, at the Centre, when demand has exceeded our capacity and we have had to turn some vulnerable people away. Thanks to the funding, we will now be able to meet the needs of more clients - it is a real boost for the centre."
Sarah Hand, Assistant Director for Grants, at the Foundation, said “this small grant will help many homeless and vulnerable people take positive steps forward with dignity and respect. This grant shows that just a limited amount of money can make a big difference.”
